Saggezza in vendita
Se si potesse comprare nei mercati:
“Mi dia patate, mele e della saggezza,
e sia gentile, abbondi con quest’ultima
che sono stanco di sbagliar con leggerezza”.
Ah, se fosse tutto così semplice
eviteremmo errori e fallimenti
ma ciò non è ammesso, non succede:
la vita, questo no, non lo concede.
Bisogna ottenerla strada facendo
farne tesoro tra le vie dell’esperienza
e l’uomo d’oggi stenta a comprenderlo
e nelle decisioni sempre accanto.
Riflessione, analisi, ragionamento,
introspezione e consapevolezza.
“Dopo le mele, aggiunga dell’insalata
e ignori la mia richiesta di saggezza”.
Wisdom for sale
If only you could buy it at the market:
“Give me potatoes, apples, and some wisdom,
and please, be generous with that last one
for I’m tired of making careless mistakes.”
Ah, if only it were all that simple
we would avoid our missteps and failures
but it’s not allowed, it simply cannot be:
life, on this point, will not grant it.
It must be earned along the way
cherished through the paths of experience
people today struggle to understand this
distracted by the noise of the present.
But how steep and rugged is the climb
to reach that long-desired summit
groping through the darkness of uncertainty
amid falls and moments of torment.
And yet whoever truly attains it
does not flaunt it, nor boast about it
they carry it with them, a discreet friend
always beside them in every decision.
Reflection, analysis, reasoning,
introspection and awareness.
“After the apples, add some lettuce
and never mind my request for wisdom.”
